KINGSTON, Jamaica, Thursday October 20, 2016 – The documentary "I Am Bolt", a film chronicling the life and triumphs of the world's fastest man Usain Bolt, is on track to premiere in Kingston and London.
The Jamaican sprint superstar is recognized as a legend in his time after winning nine Olympic gold medals and nailing world records for the 100 and 200 metres.
"I Am Bolt" is directed by Gabe and Ben Turner, the team behind hit documentaries "One Direction: This Is Us" and "Class of '92." it is produced by Fulwell 73 and the Doyen Group.
Filming of the documentary began in May, leading up to the Rio Olympics, at which time the sprint king told Britain's Guardian newspaper: "I'm excited to start work on this project. When I met Gabe and Ben and heard about their previous work, I felt they would be the right people to tell my story and capture my journey to Rio 2016. It's going to be a lot of fun."
The film's soundtrack will feature a diverse group of artistes including Sean Paul, Damian Marley, Vybz Kartel, R Kelly, Nas, Desmond Dekker, Beenie Man and Major Lazer.
Reports indicate that the film will be available on Television On Demand and DVD, while the soundtrack will be released by Island Records.
Bolt is a fan of dancehall music and an enthusiastic "clubber," as well as a businessman with interests in the entertainment and dining sectors.
Bolt's Tracks and Records (UBTR), a sports-entertainment restaurant, recently opened in the Jamaican resort town of Ocho Rios.
The establishment is UBTR's first franchise location and follows the prototype in Kingston in which Bolt partners with the Jamaican company KLE Group.
